10 years ago this month, the meticulous restoration of our farm’s stable block reached completion. Originally used for stabling the farm’s horses back in 1866, the last livestock to call the Stables ‘home’ were the calves of our dairy herd, which left Lower House Farm in 1996.
Today all that remains of its past use are a few horse shoes and the original timbers.The renovation project, which began in November 2005 involved recycling old materials whilst keeping as many of the original features as possible. It was completed in February 2006 and open for business by March.
To celebrate our decade as one of Herefordshire’s finest conference venues, we are running a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition, the prize being a full day’s venue hire with our ‘Lovely’n Local’ buffet for a maximum of 12 people, followed by afternoon tea & cakes. The prize can be booked for any available date in the Stables diary and is to be used before 1st October 2016.
